Who Knows?

I won't be taking down all the sites as promised, at least not today.

Simple explanation: it is no more up to me whether I quit than it is to continue. Erasing the sites and announcing my disappearance is just the flip side of the same coin to that of my compulsive creativity. Extremes of behavior sustain one another. Also self-erasure can be slightly pathological (Carlos was obsessed with it).

For now, I will just say that I may never post or podcast again. But then again, I may. It's not up to me, so I am content just to say, who knows?

If not, then consider these various sites exquisite corpses.

In passing, I found an interesting definition yesterday in Doug Coupland's dictionary of the near future:

DESELFING Willingly diluting one’s sense of self and ego by plastering the Internet with as much information as possible. (See also Omniscience Fatigue; Undeselfing)
Consider me de-selfed.

Adieu
or au revoir to all my faithful readers.

Makes sense to me, I'd miss your output if you disappeared altogether but I can see how a break or change in some way may be needed, or not.
It's all gravy.

If life were easy it would be meaningless, and besides if one goes fishing for minnows one shouldn't expect to eat well.

Does that sound harsh? I don't mean to be that way, it's just what came to mind.

You are so creative Jason, surely there will be better days ahead. Reboot, reboot.

I do and have loved your voice and wish all the best for you and Lucinda.

Had started to grow accustomed to these periodic resurrections of your virtual self. Even when it's so unstructured, unplanned and informal as it sometimes is, it's still far more interesting than almost everything else online these days.

Thanks for making the series of tubes seems a little less like the world wide walmart / meat market it's rapidly spiraling into.

Come back sometime, or don't. Either way, do what you will, life goes on.

I so really wanted to follow my bliss,
tic-tac-toe you know, not on the list.
So I really wanted to keep my silence,
tic-tac-toe you know, not on the list.

You should do sometihing like stormy weather where you interview different interesting people on occult and esoteric subjects. What do you think?

I go through the same process... I've gone as far as to make everything invite only, only to open it up again. Just go away for a while and come back ;)
