"The hypotheses that transcend reason are much more appealing."
NOTHING EVER HAPPENED
To me nothing ever happens.
The only genuine philosophical question is why is there something rather than nothing.
The perception that existence exists invalidates the normal personality, as does the imminence of death.I think you may be said to have the relevant perception when you see that it is inconceivable that anything should exist.Since the inconceivable is 'there', it is impossible to set any limit to the quantity of inconceivableness which may be present in the situation. Actually the fact that 'the inconceivable exists' sheds a certain doubt on any conceivable association of ideas, because there may be always more facts (of an inconceivable kind) which are, 'in reality', relevant. Now if you do have a perception that any conceivable consideration may be utterly invalidated by some other consideration which you do not know, and if you are reminded of this perception constantly by the fact that things exist, certain modifications take place in the way you feel about things. These modifications have not taken place in the psychology of most people. For example, you would not be able to think ‘Our happiness is here or not at all’ without also thinking ‘There may be important and inconceivable facts in relation to which it does not matter at all whether we are happy or not; it may even be the case that for some quite inconceivable reason it is much the best thing that I should be as unhappy as possible.’I return therefore to my initial statement: The perception that existence exists invalidates the normal personality.*Perhaps you do not think the fact of existence 'is' inconceivable; well, set it against its opposite, nonexistence: no space, no time, no anything at all. Is that conceivable? Now what makes existence what it is is what distinguishes it from non-existence, and this is inconceivable. But enough. It cannot, I grant, be demonstrated. In the last resort you 'perceive' it, or you do not. It is an open secret, as Carlyle - following Goethe - said; but the operative word is 'secret'.
I decided at around the age of eleven that the fact of UNCERTAINTY was the last word in all questions. It appeared to me that to adopt any attitude which osbcured one's awareness of this was unrealistic.
Nothing happens! What a joyful and liberating message from a nightmare!
If you go up to a stone BUDDHA and you hit him hard on the head, NOTHING HAPPENS.
"Though nothing happens, we've grown old in our busy lives. We cry and laugh, all in emptiness. There is originally no self, so both life and death can be cast aside."
Did anything happen?

There is no qualitative difference between the content of consciousness in the two processes, hallucination and perception.
I began to live the "snychronicty quest" in the early eighties. I had a dream and then, yet half in a sleeping state went out into the town (Zurich, Switzerland). Perhaps it was some sort of a state of "somnambulism". I let me lead by I don't know whatsoever. The results were incredible! I met the people I just dreamt of some hours ago. I experienced very similar events I dreamt of just before, and so on. I began to believe that the world is synchronized with my dream world. Like this I began to understand that there is a different state of consciousness, in which we are much more in the flow of life than in our usual consciousness.
You are an imagination within an imagination.
O seeker of the mysteries, if you wish to see a dead man living - Walking on the earth, like living men; yet he is dead and his spirit is gone to heaven; One whose spirit hath a dwelling-place on high at this moment, so that if he die, his spirit is not translated,Because it has been translated before death: this mystery is understood only by dying, not by using one's reason.
Die before you die.
Signal to noise biatch! read about it on my blog.

It is a fact which appears incredible, but is too well attested for the admission of a doubt, that Sufis believed themselves to be gods, and adhered to their belief, amid torments until death. This psychological fact may be explained by considering that, according to Sufism, God is nothing else but an idea of the highest perfection."He," says Mohsan Fani, "from whose sight both worlds vanished, who in the steps of right faith arrived at the rank of perfect purity, from truth to truth, became God." That is, he became one with his own idea of perfection, whcih cannot be disputed to him; his divinity is an illusion, but nothing else to him is the world; it is all and nothing, dependent upon his own creation and annihilation.
To be, or not to be: that is the question.

NO PLANES, NO PLANES!
We have an opportunity to really help, to effectively change people's lives. I am absolutely uncompromisingly dedicated to that. Are you going to look at this and do it or are you too afraid? Period. You are either on board or not on board. We are the authorities. Period. Do it. That's us. Do it. Now is the time. You better know it. Period.
Fuck - what the fuck is it with you? It's fucking distracting.
No planes or tanks or ships. But there's five hundred wooden cubes!

The 50'th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz has been marked by numerous celebrations and manifestations, whose main purpose was to learn from Auschwitz experience in order to make its repetition impossible. Therefore I am asking myself: what have I learnt? With respect to all I have seen, heard and red, the answer seems clear: nothing.
I am the God of the Godless!
Every sentence I utter must be understood not as an affirmation, but as a question.
Teaching a child with no identity to solve algebra problems is like giving a man a gun and no training and telling him that he’s a soldier.
The basic fact about human existence is not that it is a tragedy, but that it is a bore. It is not so much a war as an endless standing in line...
We are here and it is now: further than that, all human knowledge is moonshine.
So long as psychology is projection - animistic, religious, or scientific - it is therapeutic, a helpfull illusion; with increasing self-consciousness and insight it becomes destructive, until knowing the truth about itself, it dies in the aftermath of its own impotence. If control over nature through scientific knowledge was our greatest victory, self-knowledge, flowing from self-consciousness, is our greatest defeat. Nietzsche rightly saw that we could be saved only by revaluing guilt as will, by going back to active affirmation of will. But this seems to be impossible.
Imagine a group of tribes living within reach of one another. If all choose the way of peace, then all may live in peace. But what if all but one choose peace?
We define cultural reality broadly as the 'constellation of externally delivered suggestions that are normalized on the basis of group endorsement.'How 'large' and/or cohesive must a group be for it to be capable of normalizing suggestions? There is no simple answer...It can only be said that a cultural suggestion becomes an element of the reality of a person when the group is, in fact, sufficiently large and/or cohesive for the person to perceive that suggestion as normal, or normative.*Cultural reality refers to reality that is 'shared', or agreed upon, at the group level, even if that group is only one portion if the total population. Of course, conflicts can arise between the reality of the dominant culture and that of a subculture.*In addition to normalizing errors, culture also transmits a great deal of vital data that is in close accord with primary or empirical reality. This has the obvious advantage of delivering information that is essential for survival; therefore, cultural reality must be viewed as an intentional and necessary blend of information and misinformation.
There's new results out that smell is indeed a quantum tunneling event based on frequency -- not structure or amplitude. My own smell has been out of control lately -- so much that it landed me in the back of a squad car, and has caused fear and panic among many a coworker and passerby on the street, in stores, among my family, etc.*I headed off to campus with the intention of returning to work later to finish my job. I went into full-lotus on a toilet, fell asleep, and someone called the cops thinking I was homeless. As I was just having a slight Out of Body experience from the full-lotus tea tree oil combo, the bathroom door flies open with the proverbial: POLICE! I got a trespass warning and was released. I went back to work and I was sent home after a long crazy performance I gave to my 3 directors. *I literally smelled of death and probably am still recovering from garlic smell (I had a strong bulb a couple days ago). I've ate a lot of parsley but it's not as effective as good cilantro for counteracting the hydrogen sulfide.*I can feel the bacteria in my brain right now -- it's connected through the sinus cavity, goes behind the eyes, and back through to the pineal gland.
We have entered the Age of the Conjurer and it is a tricky time. The 911 stunt was a huge magic trick and we all bought it at first. Magicians can be very convincing. You have to look very hard to see the trick and not be fooled. On this occasion slow motion exposes the sleight of hand, but remember how the magician works: he can make almost anything seem real if he can make his audience look in the wrong place at crucial moments.
Without change something sleeps inside us and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.
The Sleeper Has Awakened.
The science of voodoo: When mind attacks body The placebo effect has an evil twin: the nocebo effect, in which dummy pills and negative expectations can produce harmful effects. The term "nocebo" means "I will harm". Despite the growing evidence that the nocebo effect is all too real, it is hard in this rational age to accept that people's beliefs can kill them. After all, most of us would laugh if a strangely attired man leapt about waving a bone and told us we were going to die. But imagine how you would feel if you were told the same thing by a smartly dressed doctor with a wallful of medical degrees and a computerful of your scans and test results. The social and cultural background is crucial, says Enck.*Take Sam Shoeman, who was diagnosed with end-stage liver cancer in the 1970s and given just months to live. Shoeman duly died in the allotted time frame - yet the autopsy revealed that his doctors had got it wrong. The tumour was tiny and had not spread. "He didn't die from cancer, but from believing he was dying of cancer," says Meador. "If everyone treats you as if you are dying, you buy into it. Everything in your whole being becomes about dying."Meador argues that Shoeman's misdiagnosis and subsequent death shares many of the crucial elements found in hex death. A powerful doctor pronounces a death sentence, which is accepted unquestioningly by the "victim" and his family, who then start to act upon that belief. Shoeman, his family and his doctors all believed he was dying from cancer. It became a self-fulfilling prophecy.Bad news promotes bad physiology. I think you can persuade people that they're going to die and have it happen," Meador says. "I don't think there's anything mystical about it. We're uncomfortable with the idea that words or symbolic actions can cause death because it challenges our biomolecular model of the world."
History is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake.
Why arent't we willing to confront our own weakness? Because history is a process in which the weak have been victimized, killed.
Life - that is to be long ill.
On Symbolism:The affairs of man are conducted by our own, man-made rules and according to man-made theories. Man's achievements rest upon the use of symbols. For this reason, we must consider ourselves as a symbolic, semantic class of life, and those who rule the symbols, rule us.
When we say 'our rulers', we mean those who are engaged in the manipulation of symbols. There is no escape from the fact that they do, and that they always will, rule mankind, because we constitute a symbolic class of life, and we cannot cease from being so, except by regressing to the animal level. The hope for the future consists in the understanding of this fact; namely, that we shall always be ruled by those who rule symbols, ...
The end of a picture is always an end of a life.
Reality doesn't interest me.
They won't catch us this time! Not this time! They haven't spotted us! No, they're all snoring in their bunks! Or, you know what? They're drinking at the bar, celebrating our sinking! Not yet, my friends. Not yet!
"Tout est politique maintenant."
But we are all f*cked up, all of us.
Just be who you are. Thats what's REALLY cool.
No one knew where I was, or even if I was alive or dead. In poverty, I was free to reinvent myself, with no one to tell me otherwise.
Living is no laughing matter: you must live with great seriousness like a squirrel, for example - I mean without looking for something beyond and above living, I mean living must be your whole occupation. *I mean, however and wherever we are, we must live as if we will never die.
The difference between something and nothing is nothing.
Come back to bed, Paul.
This is how he attends unwisely: Was I (not) in the past? … Shall I be (not) in the future? … Am I (not)? Where has this being come from? Where will it go?When he attends unwisely in this way, one of six views arise in him: The views (1) ‘self exists for me’ … (2) ‘no self exists for me’ … (3) ‘I perceive self with self’ … (4) ‘I perceive not self with self’ … (5) ‘I perceive self with not self’ … (6) ‘It is this self of mine that speaks and feels and experiences here and there the result of good and bad actions; but this self of mine is permanent, everlasting, eternal, not subject to change, and it will endure as long as eternity.’
All ideas of salvation with eternal duration, from the Buddhist Nirvana to the Christian immortality, strive after a redemption from tormenting self consciousness… For the painful reality from which the individual wants to get free is his own consciousness in the form of self consciousness and release is sought in the overcoming of the temporal form of consciousness… Man felt himself immortal as long as he knew nothing of time, as long as he had no time consciousness. This is the meaning of the myth of the fall [Adam & Eve] … while the Greek myth attaches the transition from the immortal God to mortal man to the breaking in of time consciousness. Uranos, the eternal God of heaven, is emasculated by Kronos, symbol of time and temporal duration which from that point on had dominion over the world and men… The “Kronos complex” is perhaps the most important and powerful complex for modern man.
If there were not this Unborn, Unbecome, Non-Effected, Incomposite, there would be no way to escape from this world of birth, becoming, effection, and composition.

'Stories are wonderful things... and they are dangerous.''The truth about stories is that that's all we are. The Okanagan storyteller Jeannette Armstrong tells us that "through my language I understand that I am being spoken to, I'm not the one speaking. The words are coming from many tongues and mouths of Okanagan people and the land around them. I am a listener to the language's stories, and when my words form I am merely retelling the same stories in different patterns."'
I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane!
In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway.
Football's important when you're not dying of cancer
